You are able to use this Web service to validate e-mail addresses even though the Web service itself is written in C# and running on the .NET platform. Using the same technique as in the standalone Web service consumer, you integrated the e-mail validation feature into the PIX system. The registration flow is modified to perform e-mail validation before a new user is added. In this process, you have become familiar with the Spring and XFire configurations required to create a Web service consumer from an existing WSDL description of a Web service. To examine the interoperability of web services, you created a C#-based Web service consumer using the .NET development kit. This cross-platform and cross-language Web service consumer successfully accessed the affiliate management service hosted in the 100% Java-based PIX system.
